Anganwadi is a type of rural child care centre in India. It was started by the Indian government in 1975 as part of the Integrated Child Development Services program to combat child hunger and malnutrition. Anganwadi in Hindi means “courtyard shelter”.

The concept came up with the word “Anganwadi” which means courtyard shelter.So,following this,we proposed a central courtyard as key feature of design.The courtyard connects all spaces and provides ample light to lit all spaces.Swings on the entrance provide a gathering space for children to attract with each other.

Open sitting space is designed for gathering space for children and anganwadi workers.

Facade is the main sustainable element.It is designed thoughtfully to cool down the hot air with the help of clay pots and water.The structure is designed in local available bamboo with thoughtful joinery.Overall the design is social and economical sustaibable.
